See the engine at the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer. While in Spencer step across Salisbury Avenue into downtown Spencer and visit the Ice Cream, Soda and Coffee shops. Please visit History of Spencer website.

The Old Bell Tower is located on West Innes Street two block west of the square

Utzman / Chambers House is located two blocks from the square on South Jackson Street.

Rowan County Courthouse is located two blocks north of the square on Salisbury Avenue

Old Southern Railway depot was located in Barber Junction has now been restored and moved to location just north of the North Carolina Transportation Museum. Is the train arrival/departure spot for all trains running at the museum.

Old File Store located at Gold Hill. Great place to spend a day touring the area. Great picnic areas.

Garrison house is the only standing structure of the Salisbury Civil War confederate prison. The prison garrison were housed here. It is the private home now and operated as an antique store. See www.gorowan.com/salisburyprison

Grace Lower Stone Church located on Lower Stone Church Road out of Rockwell

Grime's Mill is located on North Church Street just six blocks north of the square.

Hall House is located on South Jackson Street

High Rock Lake borders Rowan & Davidson counties. A great place to spend your summer days fishing and boating

Rowan County Law Enforcement Center is the pride of Rowan

Kerr Mill and Sloan Park located on Sloan Road in Mt. Ulla west of Salisbury

Train rides at Dan Nicholas Park & Campground. Please see www.dannicholas.net One of Rowan County's best attractions. Located on Bringle Ferry Road east of Salisbury. Ball fields, kiddy rides, a petting zoo, paddle boat rides.

Mauney's Store at Gold Hill.

Gold Hill is located in Rowan County at the intersection of Old Beatty Ford Road and St. Stephen's Church Road.

Michael Braun's Old Stone House located in Granite Quarry. The oldest home place is Rowan County.

Old English Cemetery is located on North Church Street just two blocks northwest of the square. Cornwallis' men buried here in 1781. Grave of Gov. John W. Ellis is here. Click here for more info on Gov. Ellis.

Typical turn of the Century Spencer home. Historic town of Spencer is full of old early railroad era homes that have been remodeled. Thousands of railroad men moved to Spencer from 1900-1950s to work for Southern Railway. Spencer, the home of the largest attraction on the county. The NC Transportation Museum.

Highway 152 east of I-85

Entrance to Civil War era prison for POWs is located six blocks south of the square.

Salisbury Train Station and old Southern Railway's depot. Located just three blocks northeast of the square. This is the home of "Historic Salisbury Foundation, Inc.".

Salisbury / Rowan Library and world famous History Room

Rowan Museum located on Salisbury Avenue just one block north of the square.

The Angel and the Soldier located one block west of the square in Salisbury.

St. Luke's Episcopal Church in downtown Salisbury just one block north of the square.

Thyatira Presbyterian Church at Mill Bridge. Located just off Hwy. 150 west of Salisbury.
